Scholarships
SEA offers financial assistance to students who want to participate in our educational programming. See below for specific scholarship opportunities and application processes.
As of now (8/21/25) we have no more scholarship funds. Please read and consider the following points:
We are incredibly grateful to the California Division of Boating and Waterways, Belvedere Cove Foundation, Marin Yacht Club Staff Commodores, and Critical Control for your contributions in 2025.
We anticipate replenishing our scholarship fund again for summer 2026.
If you have questions please send an email to programdirector@sfsailing.org and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
SEA Scholarships
Through the generous support of the California Division of Boating and Waterways, and individual donors, SEA typically has general scholarship funds available and considers requests on an on-going basis and will award as our available funds allow.
Scholarships are on a sliding-scale based on annual household income.
You can apply for more than one student at a time.
Requests for multiple sessions for the same student will be considered on an individual basis.
If your family does not qualify under income guidelines but have special circumstances and are in need we encourage you to apply and outline those circumstances.
When describing your need, please focus on your financial needs and circumstances, not your child’s interest in sailing or the benefits they might gain from sailing.
If you do not hear from us within a week of submitting an application, please reach out by emailing programdirector@sfsailing.org
