We are gearing up for another unforgettable season on the water.

We’re checking our boats, organizing our counselors, and getting everything ship shape for the summer.

We know parents are also working on summer plans. And that’s a tough job. Coordinating schedules, vacations, and kid interests is a complex juggling act. To lend a hand with your summer planning, we’re extending our earlybird discount through April.

Our sailing camps are the perfect way to build confidence, make friends, and have serious summer fun.

Whether your child is new to sailing or already knows their way around a boat, now is the time to register.

Beginning Small Boat Sailing

We have 4 classes on the calendar. Take your pick in May June, July, or August.

Over 4 days you will learn to tack, jibe, sail on all points of sail, dock the boat, and learn how to get into and out of the "safety position" and into and out of "irons". Classes are taught by certified instructors in small groups using our Catalina 16.5’ keelboats.

Recent Member Events

On April 11, SEA and LLYC members and guests were treated to a special night as Peter Buettner and Jana Olias shared their epic journey from SF to Hawaii to Alaska and back. Thank you Peter and Jana! And look out for more fun events from LLYC and SEA.

On April 12th, We held our annual Youth Sailing Open House and Safe Boating Day. Over 40 people came out to learn about SEA programs, get a free PFD, get out on the water with a mini-sailing lesson, or get a tour of the San Rafael Police Department’s patrol boats. It was a lot of fun to see so many new faces. Thanks to Kurt Sund, Matt Santos, Nyanza Ngongoseke and Kif Scheuer for making it such a great day.

On April 13th, Gus Gossett, Krystof Bruel, Jordan Viets, and Rick Merlau completed a 3-day in-person training, the final step in the Level 1 Instructor certification process.

We are so excited to have 4 new leaders equipped with the skills and knowledge to offer high quality sailing education for our community.
