Thank you Joe Rousé for 30+ years of membership, service, and dedication to SEA. Some people pass through an organization. Others become part of its foundation. Joe Rousé is the latter. After 12 years on our Board of Directors — and 33 years with SEA in all — Joe has decided to step down, and we wanted to take a moment to honor what that really means. Joe's story with this community stretches back to a time when SEA was still operating out of Sausalito and he has been a steady, driving force through every chapter since. As one longtime member put it, "his energy and industry helped keep SEA alive over the years... it takes a lot to keep an organization like this going, and he was one strong player when we needed it most." Joe's influence is the kind that's hard to quantify, because so much of it lives in the people he taught, the culture he helped shape, and the years he gave when the organization needed giving. We wanted to honor that history in his own words. In our interview with Joe, Program Director Ainsley Parramore was able to ask him a few questions about his experience with SEA.
