Safe Boating Day!

Saturday, April 18th 10am-2pm at Loch Lomond Marina.

Meet our instructors, get info about our summer programs, and go for a sail with us!

With an emphasis on safe boating practices and in partnership with Loch Lomond Yacht Club, Safe Harbor Loch Lomond, the San Rafael Police Department, and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary;
we will give away PFDs, provide free boating safety handouts, and more.

We’ve recently added several adult classes to our website including a new one-day “Discover Sailing” one-day class. If you’ve been thinking about getting your feet wet, or want to level up your sailing skills - now’s the time!

Discover Sailing

To help people discover sailing in a low-cost, low threshold way, we are now offering a half-day "discover sailing” class.
Cost: $100

Current Sessions

  • Discover 1: Sunday April 19, 10am-2pm

  • Discover 2: Saturday May 16, 10am-2pm

Beginning Small Boat Sailing

​An introduction to sailing small boats. Students will learn to tack, jibe, sail on all points of sail, and dock the boat. Safety and self-confidence are emphasized.
Cost: $600

Current Sessions

  • Beginning 1: Sat 5/9, Sun 5/10, Sun 5/17 & Sun 5/24

  • Beginning 2: Sat 5/30, Sun 5/31, Sun 6/7 & Sun 6/13

Intermediate

SEA’s intermediate-level course is designed for sailors who are ready to gain greater independence and confidence on the water while refining essential sailing techniques.
Cost: $350

  • Intermediate 1: 6/27 & 6/28

We are very grateful for the Marin Yacht Club Staff Commodores who once again provided a significant donation to support summer scholarships and the Basic/Intermediate end-of-session bbqs. Our enduring partnership with MYC helps sustain our programs while maintaining access for as many youth as possible.

Recent Member Activities

Open Sails - With great weather on our side, open sails have been a hit! On March 14 we had 5 boats out filled with families and friends. Thanks to our hosts for making these days happen. Don’t forget to RSVP on our website to reserve your spot!

Potlucks: On March 15th we kicked off our potluck series presentation with board member Kif Scheuer. He discussed his Cat cruise in Croatia. Our next potluck will be April 19th with board member Doug Moler discussing his 17 year long sailing adventure.
